MARACATU - MUSIC FROM BRAZIL'S ENCHANTING NORTH-EAST
There are far fewer Maracatu groups in Germany and all over Europe than other Brazilian styles, the Samba Reggae and Rio Samba scene is clearly more present - let's give Maractu more credits! The earthy sound of the large rustical wood drums with thick hide heads is not only totally danceable and electrifying but also reflects the beauty and diversity of Brazilian percussion and its African roots. Which is why we would like to present you a new band that managed to get together a solid base of Maracatu players in fairly short time - Munich is now enriched by one musical style!

Under the leadership of Federico Tiziani and Anja Kalb, the start-up group meets every Thursday and is currently still taking in new members who are up for the power of Maracatu drumming!
