The thickness of a head has only little influence in how long it may last. Some percussionists play a thin head just as long as a thicker one.
The life career of a head begins with the moment you put it on your drum for the first time. Each time you re-tune it, the head will fit itself more onto the rim of shell being the base for the head. Also in terms of sound, time has an effect on every head. New heads often sound a bit whiny when freshly fitted onto the drum. But after a short break-in time and regular playing, the sound will quickly improve.

Seit einigen Jahren ist IZZO unter den Topmarken brasilianischer Instrumentenbauer.
Einst kamen aus dem Hause IZZO aus São Paulo eher einfache Percussion Instrumente, die in Brasilien auf Grund ihres guten Preises viele Abnehmer fanden.
Dann begann IZZO, die Standards ihrer Sambainstrumente beständig anzuheben, und so wuchs die Firma zu einem ernst zu nehmendem Hersteller mit einer breiten Palette sehr gut verarbeiteter Instrumente, der sich auch auf dem internationalen Markt einen Namen gemacht hat.
Ein besonderer Coup gelang IZZO mit der 2010 lancierten Top Marke TIMBRA. Die TIMBRA Instrumente wurden in enger Zusammenarbeit mit renommierten Percussionisten entwickelt. Das Ziel waren in Klang und Optik überzeugende, bühnentaugliche Instrumente. Besonders die Timbals, gleich ob aus Holz oder aus Aluminium, setzen mit ihren 16 Spannhaken, ausgefallener Gestaltung und tollem Klang neue Standards.
Heute ist IZZO gleichauf mit den großen, alt eingesessenen Traditionsmarken brasilianischer Sambapercussion.
