Simply screw it onto the end of the tension rod – it adapts to the thread shape as you go.It’s especially useful for surdo, repinique, and timbal players: if you play with your rods pointing upwards, the cap helps prevent scratches and scrapes on your hands; if they face downwards, it protects your shins and knees.Timbal players will know the problem – those little holes in your t-shirt caused by the tension hooks. These caps can help stop that from happening.They also work as floor protectors, preventing the rods from scratching delicate surfaces. If you want to use several pads, place on on the opposite side of eachother on the edge of the head (not touching the rim).Larger gel pads muffle stronger. Several smaller pads have a more even effect than a single large one. Use on any instrument with a synthetic head, e.g. surdo, caixa / snare, repinique, pandeiro with nylon head, timbal, repique de mão.
