The frame is a 50mm medium-high one, the 8 hooks and tension hoop are chromed. A wooden frame sounds warmer than a metal frame and of course it also has a very different haptics - warmer and softer than metal. In exchange tuning it up very high is limited as wood of course is not as sturdy as aluminium.
