Flexible Samba Reggae and Afro Samba whippy beaters with ABS elastomer grip for repinique and bacurinha
Olodum, Ilê Aiyê, Muzenza and other Afro Blocos from Salvador play with flexible plastic whippy beaters on their repiniques. Calls and solos are particularly crisp, but the groove also sounds authentic with these polythene sticks. The sticks have little to no rebound, which is typical for this style. Different lengths allow you to play comfortably. When choosing the length, consider how low the position of your repi will be, how long your arms are and at what angle you like your arms when you play. You have found the right length when your shoulders are not hunched but loose, your arms hang down relaxed and the tips of the beaters point to the centre of the head.

Gute Repisticks, die von mir in der längeren Variante bevorzugt werden.
Die Repinique Sticks machen insgesamt einen guten Eindruck. Leider waren die 50cm langen Sticks grad nicht bestellbar. Deshalb hab ich ein Paar mit 45cm und eins mit 47,5cm bestellt. Für meinen Geschmack lassen sich die längeren besser spielen, da sie etwas mehr „peitschen“ und dadurch etwas weniger vibrieren, bzw. in sich schwingen, wovon ich schon öfters Schmerzen in den Handgelenken hatte. Für mich wäre es jetzt interessant zu wissen, ob sich das mit den weiteren 2,5cm der 50cm Sticks noch mehr verbessert. Die Griffe liegen sehr angenehm in der Hand und haben einen guten Grip.
