It is not particularly a musical 'must' but always a great enrichment. It brings those special vibes to a Samba de mesa, if played with virtuosity, this instrument is amazing and impressive! It pushes the beat and creates an incredible swing, simply by giving dominant contra rhythms played on the outside of its shell. The instrument is held sidewards on your lap, actually like a tan tan or a rebolo, only that it is shorter and has a synthetic head. With one hand you play the typical Partido Alto rhythms, with the other hand you give contra with the complementary rhythms. The musical construction is highly percussive and - typical Brazilian - most of the syncopated rhythms are offbeat. The swing that is created like this won't let you rest for long - you will want to jump up from your seat immediately and dance!The repique de mão by Contemporanea Pro is made of polished thick-walled aluminium which the brand typically uses and is equipped with a comfort rim. All hardware is chromed.

Korino head 10'' by Contemporanea:Nappa or korino heads are multi-ply synthetic layers of artificial leather and nylon and sound warm and bassy. This construction reacts quite sensitive to beaters which are too hard. The head will break if you use beaters with too little padding. We recommend that for korino heads you use only soft or medium beaters with plenty of padding.
