Choro meets Bach - a compilation of classical Brazilian music and a selection of Johann Sebastian Bach's works
About this album
The aim of this work is to illustrate musically the similarities between Choro and Bach's music. Bach is considered one of the most important composers of the Baroque period. From Bach's extensive repertoire, 13 pieces were selected and arranged for a choro ensemble that can be played with traditional choro instruments in the typical style and rhythms. For the solos of these works, instruments have been selected that are most frequently found in the Choro music: Flute, bandolim, clarinet and saxophone.
Choro and Bach finally united! A great book, even if you just want to listen. If you want to play along, you will find audio samples on the CD and sheet music for the following pieces:
