The tall 60 cm surdos are popular because they sound longer than short surdos. The longer shell gives them a powerful sound and more sustain, which is popular in many music styles. A 20" x 60 cm surdo brings quite a bit of bass to your batería and is ideal as a surdo 1 or surdo 2.

Izzo makes quality percussion instruments with neat details, clean threads and low weight. The head contact area is accurately flattened out. The matt aluminium look is not only visually catching but also keeps the price low as its production is cheaper than polished aluminium.

Izzo surdos come with a thick P3 nylon playing head and a thinner P2 resonance head - ideal for authentic sound! This combination is Kalango-exclusive!

Seit einigen Jahren ist IZZO unter den Topmarken brasilianischer Instrumentenbauer.
Einst kamen aus dem Hause IZZO aus São Paulo eher einfache Percussion Instrumente, die in Brasilien auf Grund ihres guten Preises viele Abnehmer fanden.
Dann begann IZZO, die Standards ihrer Sambainstrumente beständig anzuheben, und so wuchs die Firma zu einem ernst zu nehmendem Hersteller mit einer breiten Palette sehr gut verarbeiteter Instrumente, der sich auch auf dem internationalen Markt einen Namen gemacht hat.
Ein besonderer Coup gelang IZZO mit der 2010 lancierten Top Marke TIMBRA. Die TIMBRA Instrumente wurden in enger Zusammenarbeit mit renommierten Percussionisten entwickelt. Das Ziel waren in Klang und Optik überzeugende, bühnentaugliche Instrumente. Besonders die Timbals, gleich ob aus Holz oder aus Aluminium, setzen mit ihren 16 Spannhaken, ausgefallener Gestaltung und tollem Klang neue Standards.
Heute ist IZZO gleichauf mit den großen, alt eingesessenen Traditionsmarken brasilianischer Sambapercussion.
