Repique de Anel 12''x27cm
12'' Repique de Anel -  aluminium shell with hide heads on both sides and white hardware elementsAnel means ring. The repique de anel is a hand drum which you'll see in Pagode groups. The drum has skins on both sides, is also played on both sides and - as the name indicates - a ring for creating effects on the shell is often used. Quite similar to the repique de mão, contrarhythms are played on the outer shell. If you wear a ring, they sound sharper and especially pretty. Some people also stick coins or metal pieces directly on the outside of the shell with some tape. The rattling creates some great effects while playing the contrarhythms with one hand. You can find the repique de anel in Pagodes as well as Samba stage gigs, any kind of Samba de mesa and even in Samba Pop.

The repique de anel is at revival! Anel means ring - literally! Wear a ring to create additional rhythms on the shell. The repique de anel has hide heads on both sides and is also played on both sides. To increase the characteristic sound, put on a ring and use it for clicking contrarhythms on the body of the drum. Some percussionists use coins or metal pieces which they attach on the outside of the shell, this gives you even more options to vary and amplify sounds. Try the repique de anel in Pagode, small ensembles, Samba de mesa, on stage and even for Samba Pop!
