Original Rio style Samba beaters - perfect for hide heads - medium sized, allrounder!Hard beaters with only very little padding get the richest sound out of hide heads. The heartbeat of your bateria comes from the bass corners - the surdos de marcação, whilst the rhythmic 'ornaments' and syncopations are played by the terceira. This beater has a medium size which you may use for any of those sizes. Sambistas with smaller hands might find this size more comfortable than the large Marcação mallets, respectively for some people the regular terceira beater size is too small. The Médio beater has a medium large, unpadded head and semi-long hard-wood handle.Ideal as:surdo beater for the voices of surdo de primeira and surdo de segunda and also the terceira voice in Rio style Samba. The long hard-wood handle and hard head help produce rich bass tones on hide heads.Please remember:This type of beater should only be used on hide heads (animal skins). Heads made from nylon, korino (nappa), vintage or similar types of surdo heads will suffer dents or might even break.
