A caxixi has a wonderfully handy format, whether as a single shaker or as a double set. This book contains lots of exercises for independence and coordination for musicians.

The caxixi can easily be combined with other instruments such as the bateria, congas, bongôs etc. It creates swing and musically brings a special touch into an ensemble. A caxixi might seem small and inconspicuous, however, it is a challenge and contains a great variety of rhythms and authentic Brazilian swing that cannot be overheard.
